Hi guys! So i missed the may 21st APA date and i registered for the June one. Pretty much, I am asking what you guys are taking freshman year if you are doing premed. Please help me out so i know what to pick. Thanks alot!

and do we get to choose professors freshy year? thanks! if so, which one did you choose?

Depends on what your ap credit is like but generally you’re more focused on getting classes than getting them with any certain professor. You’ll want to take a Chem, a Bio, the math of your level, the writing course and the some elective (alternatively you can do your physics as well and the lab course if you can get into it). Basically you want to start taking care of your intro courses, gl hf at rutgers!

chem bio and physics all in the same year? isn’t that overkill?

Not really, physics 1 is very easy work wise and computationally but, as a premed student you could put it off. Chem and Bio are both pretty difficult general courses (the curve is relatively harsh, the material isn’t) but its necessary you take them first semester so you can finish them by the end of your freshman year. I think you’ll be surprised how easy college is or at least how not impossible it is… If you wanted to take it slow, you could swap physics for psych or philosophy I guess

What about second semester? Can’t i allocate all these courses over the two semesters?

There’s General Bio/Chem 1 and General Bio/Chem 2 which you’ll probably do your first and second semesters

I would say take bio 1,expos, math , physics and your electives. The reason i said leave the chem out is because chem in rutgers is really hard which requires more time. Balancing 3 sciences might kill your GPA. Another reason is because if you take general chem 1 and 2 sophmore year. You can take orgo junior year and wont forget general chem and after u finish orgo, you can take MCATS
