<p>They are exactly the same as far as the rooms go, although there are different types of rooms depending if you got a connecting/community/private bath. The lobby of West is a bit nicer, and it has a computer lab.</p>

<p>So i noticed at orientation when i stayed on the 6th floor of Jester East that the beds were high up with a lot of room to put things under them. But i also noticed rooms with rollout beds that didn’t have room under them to put things. Are the rooms on the 1st floor of jester west high up or not?</p>
<p>i think floors 2-7 have been renovated because i had a nice room at orientation also…but im wondering if jester west rooms look the same/better/or worse</p>

<p>00 is a floor. It is not a basement either. Since Jester is on a hill(ish) the “main entrance” level is the first floor. However the parts that are downhill are 00 rooms. It’s hard to explain. If you walk up from the Brazos parking garage, you are looking at 00. If you walk up from 21st/Speedway/Jester eating areas/main campus/etc you are looking at 01.</p>
<p>Other dorms do have basement rooms, although they still have windows and at some point they are on a “main level” and not all underground.</p>

<p>Stairs reach all of the floors for emergency purposes. I was on 14th floor of Jester at my friend’s dorm when we had a night fire drill. It was great having everyone in the building scramble down the stairs… If you’re on floors 1-4, you’re supposed to use the stairs rather than the elevator. Sometimes it’s a hassle but other times it’s good because waiting for elevators can take a while.</p>
<p>^ Fire drill? When was this? I’ve never had a fire drill before in Prather.</p>
<p>Really? I had two my year there. Granted, I didn’t leave the dorm the second time round.</p>
