Which Residence Hall?

I'm trying to decide between East Halls and South Halls. Does anyone have any experience with these dorms?

I want to know this too. I chose East, because I like the desk. LOL.

East is "very active" freshman dorms. Not quiet, not much supervision. Think "party"

South would be quieter, freshman and others and closer to classes.

How do South food compare? Is there anyway I can choose Atherton in South? I don't really like the other floor plans that they have.

Does anyone know how Pollock Halls compare as far as condition/disrepair, room size, convenience to classes/CATA buses and noise level? Thanks.

My UserID/Password is not working for eLiving/MyAdmissions today. Is there something wrong with their site or is it just me, and I should email them about it? I could log in last night but not today.

Redifer (at South) has some of the best food choices. East really isnt that bad tho. Id still rather choose East as a freshman as it allows you to meet so many different people. Also if your room is too loud for some reason (There are quiet hours from 8pm-8am during the weekdays) you can always go work in the commons where its quiet. Pollock has better food since its closer to south than East.

You can request atherton/simmons even though they are honors dorms. They accept non honors if there is room.

Definately DON'T chose East. Pollock and South are your best bet coz:

1) Food is good
2) Much CLOSER to your classes. Trust me, you dno't wanna freeze your butt in the winter walking to classes or waiting for the CATA buses which can be really crowded.
3) You can still meet lots of freshman in Pollock and South halls. And yes there's lots of partying there too.

ahah yeah those full buses are annoying as hell ;).

When I visited during the storm back in February, I noticed a lot of people waiting for the bus near the west side of campus. I saw about two buses right behind the first one though.

if you want to meet alot of new people some of my friends live in east. i live in pollock, beaver hall and i love it there. it is closer to all of my classes. i would say either live in pollock or south. south has cheap food and there rooms are spacious.

yeah, definatley take SOUTH. its closer to everything and has the better food. plenty of freshman will be there.

EAST, why. souly bc its all freshmen like im gonna be. it'll be like being a small fish in a huge tank with thousands of other small fish.(no difference) also it seems to be kinda a right of passage.

ps question: Can i be in East and eat food in West? or any other commens?

pss- check this out East Vrs South http://youtube.com/watch?v=UnaiJVuHvyU

cant wait!

I'm thinking South 1st choice, East 2nd. The only advantage of East Halls people ever mention is that it's where the majority of freshmen go.

I'm thinking South as first choice and West as second choice.

South is nearest to downtown. West has the best food, or so i've heard.
