Pick Miami. Playing varsity sports there would be a lot of fun. Plus Miami=hot weather and hot chicks while Michigan=cold and dreary. Really depends on how much money and sports are a factor, as they both seem to be pretty equal. 17k is a huge difference, that could be a down payment on a home, a new car, etc.

Where do you think you would better fit in with student life?

nowayjose: check UMich's site -- they'll tell you the same thing. With all the other expenses (books, travel, personal, etc.), it comes to about $40k, not $50k.

hey kyledavid, if you want to disagree with what the bill-paying father tells us, be my guest.

If Michigan is 39K/year for you, and Miami is 22K/year, i'd suggest Miami. You're saving 68K over 4 years by going to Miami (that's a car and a down payment on a home), getting more personalized attention, smaller classes, in a warmer environment. Michigan has much better academics and reputation, but that's not worth the difference financially.

Michigan is stronger academically hands down.

However, when it comes to kineseology in particular, I'm not sure if Miami is stronger than Michigan in this particular discipline. From what I'm reading on this thread, apparently Miami is one of the strongest schools for kinesiolgy.

Any other major, I'd easily pick Michigan.
