Which School

I'd like suggestions.
I am interested in writing, in all of its forms: TV, novels, newspapers, magazines, film, stage, etc. I'll write where the money is. What school do you suggest I appply to? I think that if I get rejected from one, that's it. No getting deferred to another. Right?
Should I go Gallatin and take all kinds of random classes so I can get the liberal arts background that is good for writing? It has been shown that writers don't really all English. They are successful with history, psychology, etc. CAS for writing? Tisch for writing?

I think your best bet would be Tisch's dramatic writing program

I would say Gallatin, but keep your grades up so trasferring is still an option.

tisch if you have the stats

Depends on what you are looking for. Tisch will be the most specialized, Gallatin will give you the most freedom for course selection, while CAS will be a traditional liberal arts education, which of course is writing intensive, and you can have such a concentration if you so choose. Then again, there is nothing that says you have major in writing to be a writer...in fact most of the writers for places like the NY Times and the Wall St. Journal had other majors. Thus, you can still study what you want...an education from a quality school can easily make you strong writer.

Correct.
