<p>Hello everyone. First time posting on cc. Just need some opinions on which score is better if one were to send them to colleges.</p>
<p>Heres are the scores</p>
<p>SAT Composite: 1870
Critical Reading: 630 Math:720 Writing:520 Essay:6</p>
<p>ACT Composite: 29
English:28 Math:31 Reading:31 Science:27 Essay:8 </p>

<p>comparatively, a 29 ACT and 1870 SAT are pretty close.</p>
<p>A 29 ACT can be considered a 1910 SAT score (CR+M+W) or a 1290-1320 CR+M. So I would say send both. Since they are so similar.</p>
<p>but i think the percentile for a 29 act is higher than the percentile on a 1870 sat. is that true? and also an 8 on the essay on the act should be better than a score of 6 on an essay on the SAT right? because some colleges take into account the essay scores of both test during the admissions process.</p>
<p>yea you’re right! the national rank for a 29 ACT is 93 while the national rank for 1870 SAT is 86.</p>
<p>If you’re looking at that way I’d say send your ACT only.</p>
<p>ok thank you so much for your response! Anybody else have any other opinions on which scores I should send? Or should I retake both again in December? Because I am afraid that the december scores won’t make it into the Cal states and UC schools since their application deadlines are set on November 30th.</p>
