Penn sucks compared to Dartmouth. It's also the doormat ivy.

Yeah honestly Penn blows, its the definition of urban decay. When I visited my friend there I saw someone get mugged. And sorry bern I went to some of your Wharton parties and all I saw were small Jewish kids trying to score with ugly chicks.

I would disagree with the notion of Georgetown, U/Mich, and UCLA being party schools. U's/Colorado, Florida, Illinois,Texas-Austin,Wisconsin-Madison, Dartmouth, Ohio State, Penn State, Clemson, and Tulane would probably make my list. Colgate and Davidson for LAC's.

Yeah I agree with you guys. Penn definitely is the reject ivy. I've seen really mediocre people get accepted there. I'm not familiar with their party scene, but it's in crime ridden Philadelphia. I shudder at the thought of having to live around there.

Dartmouth has a better reputation for being community oriented and having awesome parties.

Ok, well, I'll be at penn next year. I might be biased but:

Penn has an awesome (as in really low) crime rate. Every single person I've talked to there absolutely loves it.

Penn isn't a reject or doormat IVY. The people who get in with low SAT scores are either legacies whose daddies donates $283478923427894327342783478923493 (legacies make up about 5% of acceptees) or athletes. Penn is known for its awesome social life. I know a few people who go there who say the party life absolutely dominates.

"Doormat Ivy" rofl. OK.

I think people are forgetting Princeton! I had the BEST time there...so much to do, so little time...of course if eating clubs aren't you're thing then maybe not.

the subject is selective party schools.

What about UC-Berkeley?
Is it a "weak" party school?

Berkeley is rated #1 as being the most liberal school in http://www.infostomp.com/rankings_misc_2.html

Berkeley will never get over its dopefest reputation from the late 70s, but im sure its a party school. hell with the football team they have.....

"dopefest reputation from the late 70s?"

What is that? I don't have any background knowledge about it.

Princeton can party? hahah thats pretty freakin' funny :D.

i meant late 60s. berkeley used to be the young activist capital of the world. kids there were famous for "expanding their mind" if you know what i mean. it still has that reputation

DUKE is where it's at

Syracuse, if you want to consider that selective. a bunch of bars were just closed up there for selling alcohol to underage college kids. also, Syracuse has a lot of fraternities and sororities so i can see why.

There is no such thing as a door-mat Ivy. All schools are excellent and there isn't a significant difference between one and any other Ivy.

Yale is where it's AT.

ivy:
-Duke
-Penn
not ivy:
-UMiami
-Florida State University
-UCLA

Duke is not an ivy

The eight Ivies are: Harvard University, Princeton University, Yale University, Cornell University, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Brown University and Dartmouth College.

Umiami is definetly not selective and def. no a party school...
