Which Should I Choose? A classic question.

So, I have a lot of great options. Unfortunately, I’m fairly torn on what I should choose. I can’t figure out what would be the best fit for me. Below, I’ll list the colleges I have narrowed it down to, financial aid I received, and the program I will be going into.
I am going to be a Psychology major.
NYU Steinhardt: Applied Psychology. They gave me 760 dollars in financial aid. Yup. You’re seeing that correctly - unfortunately not a typo.
Baruch: Macaulay Honors program. It’s free - tuition is totally covered.
Fordham: 28k in financial aid.
And some other potential choices that aren’t at the top of my list, but are still considerably good options:
Adelphi Honors
St John’s Honors
St Joseph’s (w/ a sizable scholarship…)
Florida Tech: they have Forensic Psychology available to undergraduates, a field I’m particularly interested in.

Hi!

I am on College Confidential for a research project I have to conduct for a class. I am a NYU student and I think that you should definitely try to visit each college that you got accepted to. I wish I did that when I was applying for colleges because you really cannot get a feel for the school by researching online. Every school cultivates their own communities and these communities will make or break your college experience. Financial aid is extremely important when making a decision, but definitely try to visit the campuses!

I hope this helped!

How much will your parents pay?

@College7934, Thank you very much for your input! I’ve visited all the campuses before, but I plan on revisiting for accepted student days and various other events where I can go and get a feel of the school environment. How are you liking NYU? I know it’s pretty subjective, but your opinions are most welcome!
@philbegas, More or less, they’ve told me that whatever I want to pursue, they will finance it. However, my morality will not allow my parents to go into debt to pay 57,000 a year for NYU. I want them to be able to save for retirement and personal expenses. It doesn’t curb the fact that I’d really love to go to NYU; I just don’t feel right placing that burden on them.

Hey I mean if NYU gave you a joke of a fin aid package you could always apply after 2 years after having saved a bunch of money.

Do you want to go to graduate school? Will your parents pay for it? It might be worth having that discussion because maybe they’ll only pay if you save a bunch of money undergrad and that could make a difference.

@angel2u4now

My first year at NYU was a bit difficult for me. It was hard for me to adjust because I am not from New York and it didn’t help that NYU lacks the stereotypical campus. But, I have grown to love the school. The faculty, students, and the city are so welcoming. In high school, I never experienced a truly exceptional teacher. But, at NYU, I have met a plethora of professors who inspire me and help me. The people at NYU are also very welcoming because we don’t have a campus and so, everyone is actively searching for more friends. NYU is a difficult place to live, but those experiences make your friendships that much more stronger. I think that NYU does a really great job of preparing you for the real world, simply by its location. The students at the school and the university invite you to take advantage of the opportunities of the city. There are so many internships that you can be a part of, which I think is amazing.

I know that NYU is an investment, which should definitely be taken seriously. If you can afford to attend, that is a privilege and is really amazing. If it makes you feel better, I always remind myself that even though right now, my parents are financing my education. Once I graduate, I am determined to give them exceptionally more than they have given me!! Also, you can immediately start working to help pay for some bills once you get here!
