So I think I have decided to take both of the tests but I am still on the fence about that. I am from a state that traditionally encourages the participation of the ACT (I have to drive 2 and a half hours to get to the nearest SAT/ SAT II testing center). Being as it may, I have many opportunities to take courses that are used to improve my composite score of the ACT. However, my score on the PLAN was meager to say the least (I think it was a 25 but thinking about it more it may have been a 21). I have 2 ACT prep guides (Kaplan and PR) and one currently in the mail (Real ACT prep guide), so I wanted to spend some time with each of those books. However, I have yet to take the PSAT and I really want to get NMS status (205+). However, I have little to no knowledge of the test. I know the mechanics behind it but not the ins and outs of each section. I have the College Board Prep Book, the PR book, and the Kaplan book all for the SAT so I'm going to get myself prepared using those (I assumed preparing primarily for the SAT would help me greatly on the PSAT, am I right in that asusmption?). My question is, should I dedicate my time to the ACT right now? Or the SAT?

I would say prep equally for both and see what happens. After you get your scores back study more for the test you got a higher score on to improve on that. Both tests are nationally recognized and any school will accept each one. The thing is that both tests are very different and it depends on which one you’re better at.
