Which tests should I be focusing on?

I am going to be a senior this fall and I've taken the SAT twice already but my scores have been disappointing (1960 and 1970). I want to give it one more go this fall to see if I can at least hit 2000. My counselor told me I didn't really need to and I haven't been doing any prep this summer.. Right now I am planning on ordering some books? But I could really use some feedback before I spend a lot of money :o)

I was also planning on taking the ACT in the fall, along with the SAT, and also probably SAT 11 Mathematics... but now that I think about it.. it may be over doing it? I am going to start prepping for ACT and Math this week (I know I am behind...SOML)

The SAT math2 is pretty hard so you’d definitely need to prep a lot for it. Barrons is a great resource because it OVER prepares you.

Take an ACT practice test (preferably one from the official red book or pamphlet) and see where you’re at. If you get a 28 I would definitely try and prepare for an ACT, since I don’t think it’s that hard to raise your score a few points.

Do not put practicing off. These tests are so important and if you don’t put the hours in now you will definitely regret it. The more practice you get, the easier the tests will become. It’s all about repetition and learning how to pace yourself.

Try to do at least one practice test a week and make sure to go over the questions you get wrong so you can learn from your mistakes. Good luck!
