Which UCSD College?

Which UCSD college would you recommend for someone interested in biology/pre-med? Thanks

I know a lot in Revelle and Warren, but there are biology/pre-med majors in every college. It's mostly up to you. Would you rather have a college with more or less undergrad requirements? You should also think about the location of the colleges.

Least GEs= warren, but you'll mostly be with engineers...

Most GEs= Revelle, but you'll be with people like yourself...premeds. But beware of the 5 course hum sequence...

Hi, I'm a first year at revelle, Environmental Systems major, potentially going to switch to Econ.

Right now, maybe because applying for college has made you think of your future profession more frequently and seriously than before, your major seems to matter alot to you and seems like it should be the biggest factor in alot of the decisions you make, such as which of SD's colleges to attend. But once you get here, you'll realize that it doesn't matter that much. You may have the conception that it does because you think you'll be in the same classes as other people, but keep in mind that with GE reqs, you'll find more common denominators between the classes you're taking and those that another major is taking than you thought (this is especially the case for revelle, where most people are science majors and most reqs are math courses that are prereqs for science courses that are also reqs).

What will matter after you get here is if you like what you see when you look out your window, will you like the people that surround you, and other touchy feely stuff. It might seem unlikely, but I find that people are a bit different from college to college , and you should definitely come visit, take a close look at all six colleges, get a sense of that difference and decide which variation suits you best. The colleges also look and feel different. The residence halls are configured differently, the dining halls have different atmospheres and are good at serving different foods(Muir's Sierra Summit (excellent grill) and Marshall's Oceanview Terrace (yummy mexican food) are the best in terms of atmosphere, but I think Revelle's Plaza Cafe wins in variety). Visit, absorb the differences, think about wher eyou felt most comfortable, and go with that. The verb that matters most when you're here is "living", not "majoring", so you should come get a sense of which college will give the best adverbs to "living".
