which school do you think was the hardest to get into?
which school do you think is most prestigious?

I hear business and engineering are hard.

The School of Media and Public Affairs (journalism and political communications) is the hardest. For freshmen, you have to complete more requirements than you would for other majors.

The Admissions Office says that they have the same requirements across the board when evaluating applicants to other programs.

For continuing students, the hardest schools to transfer into would be SMPA, the Elliott School of International Affairs and the School of Public Health and Health Services (SPHHS). I've posted a couple times on the requirements to transfer into Elliott. The Public Health major is one you have to apply for sophomore year. I'm not sure how engineering (SEAS) handles their internal transfers, but business (GWSB) and arts & sciences (CCAS) have similar requirements.

When you do graduate, you graduate from GW. When you meet employers, you'll say you graduated from GW, not from CCAS or ESIA. I wouldn't worry too much about prestige of the different schools within GW. No matter which school you attend, GW appears on your diploma.
