I'm taking chem140a winter quarter and the lecturer used to be Gianneschi but has been changed to Whitesell. Has anyone taken a class with Whitesell? I know people say his class is easy and you won't learn a thing but will you at least learn everything you need to know in order to take chem140b or even the DAT/MCAT?
If anyone has an opinion, I'd love to hear it :) And no, I cannot switch to the other lecturer because I wanted to take him before but he switched his lecture time and now it clashes with my Phys1c class :(

hes a bad teacher but his tests arent as hard as some of the other profs

He is not a great lecturer but he is easy. I took him for 140B though…I didn’t like his style of teaching and format of exams…His assigned homework doesn’t help you in exams. Instead do all his previous exams. They are almost exactly the same every year.If you want to succeed in his class, its better to do his exams and study based on that instead and take notes off the practice exams. He gives hints on what is on the midterms so take note of that. I dont think he will prepare you enough for the professional school exams like the MCAT. If you take him you would have to study on more your own. I advise you either to either stick with him and study based on the strategy I gave you or take him next quarter. However just know that he wont challenge you enough to give you a good foundation for organic chemistry.
