Originally no. But then I realized it was the perfect excuse to wear an outrageously beautiful vintage dress. So maybe.

I’m not planning to, since mine is on a friday night… and I have a 3 day chess tournament (need the sleep!) starting Saturday. Apparently someone’s going to kidnap me though… but perhaps whoever it is will pay for my ticket/dress/etc… ;)

And then I still dont think I’d want to go.

lol…no one’s lame for not going to prom. and it’s also not cool NOT to go to prom.

It’s way overrated but there’s no harm in going is there?

I’ve been to sooo many!..going to mine too. I’m more of a party person tho.

I’d rather go see a movie or something : )

you can always go see a movie, but you can’t always go to your one and only prom ;]

I want to go, but I don’t know which girl to ask…all the girls I know and like already have boyfriends…so wth?

I really hope I become friends with a hot single date…

No date = “Prom is lame and conformist. Who wants to subject themselves to that?”

Date = “Yeah I cant wait to go. It’s going to be so much fun!”

My school actually used to have an official anti prom dance called MORP. It wasn’t really about being single, just being informal. Blue jeans were required.
I guess it wasn’t really anti-prom though since it wasn’t on the same night.

Prom IS lame and conformist. Having a date doesn’t change that. I’d so rather go see a movie, or a concert, or just hang out.

That said, again, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion.

I personally do not like the idea of prom… I am just stating the things that I have observed from people over the years.

But lets say 10% of people are “not conforming” and subsequently do not go to prom. That means that those people are conforming to the group that isn’t conforming. For example, if I were in that group (that isn’t going to prom) and then decided to go to prom, would I be conforming to the social status quo or being anti-conformist to my group? Because if the idea of conforming is going against a group of people then I am essentially both conforming to the larger group that IS going to prom and being anti-conformist to the group of people that are not.

From that conclusion I choose not to give a damn.

Prom is an experience that doesn’t come by every Friday or Saturday night. The price is definitely worth it. It’s worth it several times over, in fact.

Besides, formal dances and dances in formal attire are the best.

Senior year! Need to make it last. The proms I’ve been to were always a lot of fun, and I expect our’s to be amazing.

Yeah, I’m going to go when I’m a senior.

staying at home to play video games and study for AP exams.

I go when I’m a senior.

My junior prom was lame…(for me, everyone else probably enjoyed it. =/)

That’s when I decided I need to go with a boy this year (I gave a younger girl my ticket last year because she really wanted to go). One who would actually hang out with me and not ditch me to go hang out with his other friends, leaving me alone in the middle of the crowded hall while everyone else is having an amazing time.
/angst

Really, though, I’m going because, even though I never go to school dances, it’s prom and everyone remembers theirs and there’s a chance it might be awesome and I can’t live without knowing if it would have been a great night or not.
And I’m hoping to overwrite all memories of last year.

I really don’t want to go, but I think I probably will.

I love dancing; I just prefer it among anonymous swarms of people. My high school experience as a whole has been lackluster, so I’m not anticipating much from Prom.

Much too expensive for my taste
$75 a ticket for a cheap buffet and hotel ballroom, plus I’ll have to buy a dress
So nope, I’m not going… I didn’t go last year either

I’m a senior. Did not go last year as a junior but I really wanted to, oh well. I will go this year if I get a prom date. :)

Why the hell would not having a date be a factor in you going to prom? I went dateless to every one of the 4 proms I went to and had a blast every single time. You get to spend more time with your friends instead of dwelling over acting perfect for your date.

I’ll be going to prom If all goes well…

im not going to prom. and im ok with it =D

i did all of my friends make up last year. it was fun!!! lots of eyeshadows and foundations. [btw, for all of you that are going, PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF MY SANITY wear foundation that actually matches your skin tone. i HATE it when people make their faces ten times lighter than their necks. i almost died looking at last years prom pictures. so … do yourself and everyone else a favor. go to mac or something if u have to, and ask them to match your skin tone. =D ok. done ranting

but, yeah. im not a prom person. ill probably end up watching a movie or something. ;D
