Who's not going to Prom?

Today is prom day for my school, but I'm just planning to hang out with other friends not going. Who else isn't bothering with Prom?

i'm not going, even though it's my senior year. i consider it a waste of money. i can use the money for something better...like books!!! or clothes. idk. perhaps i'll donate money to a humanitarian organization

I shall not bother if I have no reason to go. I have plenty of booze myself in the basement and need no partygoers to accompany me.

Prom is just something you HAVE to do. I thought for 3.9 years in high school that I was not going to prom. My friends tried every day to convince me to go, I wasn't having it. Eventually I gave in and went. How many high school proms are you going to have in your life? THREE people ended up not going to prom from our class.

And you live in Maine...
There are some who take the partying at other locales the night of prom over the event itself.

I'd like to know what living in Maine has to do with going to a prom...oh and please insinuate that I went to High School in Maine too, that would make it even less relevant.

while i intend on going to prom and having an awesome time, it is really just a dance. you will not be a failure if you don't go, the world won't end if you don't go, colleges won't rescind your admissions if you don't go...

...I wasn't speaking in a literal sense.

im not going.
too close to APs. i have fine arts banquet in 2.5 weeks which is supposed to be better...

oh, i realize that. but a lot of people think that prom, especially senior prom, is the culmination of high school (after graduation). i used to think that, until i realized that it is just a dance...

For us, it was one of the last times our entire class was going to be together, with the exception of graduation. Prom was a week before graduation, a couple weeks after our last classes. Prom, for me, was a time to bury the hatchet with a lot of people. Have some fun with some girls who may not have been on good terms with me at other times. It was more than just another dance...

not going, going to disneyland instead.

Oh I heard Disneyland sucks, come to Disney World instead..it's a little better...at least the spaghetti is in that one little place and the place where you try the sodas from around the world.

i'd love to go to disneyworld if i could...but im stuck with disneyland which is at better than disney california adventure.

I can't stand either-they are both amusement parks. I will just go 50 miles west to Cedar Point if I must to get my fun.

hmm, hokegoalie, our prom is a week before we end classes and a lot of people don't go. so at my school it is just like a really expensive "homecoming" dance

my prom is today.
APs are this upcoming monday. i wonder what kind of idiot scheduled prom on this day. bastards.

My JProm was last night. I couldn't go because my Dad doesn't "believe in Proms."

I'm definitely going to Prom next year, though, regardless of what he says. I only conceded this year because of AP's.

What is there to not believe in??? They aren't like Santa Claus, they DO exist...

Not me.
I'm skipping school that day.
