Yeah. I kinda just killed my chances of every getting into harvard.

Dang I really need to improve on this stinkin 1910, which is probably like 3rd or 4th in my school. As far I've seen no one has broken 2200 or 2300. My school is really sad considering it's a very recognized school. Our standards test scores are very high, however, this makes everyone at my school only slightly above average. Our score is all about the API score and that's it. SAT's are third to: CAT 6 and CAHSEE, which have really no significance.. Students have not realized what tests are going to actually get them into college...

No I meant that .036 of a person got a perfect score out of every 100 people. Add each .036 till you get to about 300,000, and you have 107 whole persons. :p

yea...that's also the same thing as saying .036% of all the people who took it got a 2400...(107/30,000)(100)=.035666666666666

I know.
A lot more?

yea...read the post above that one..the poster said "do you guys know how many people got an 800 on seperate sections?" (or something like that), so i responded with "yea a lot more than .036%...", meaning a lot more got 800's on seperate sections than .036% of all the people who took it....i was kinda stating the obvious, but w/e.

OH! I just got it! Oh wow, sorry. Gee I'm slow. :p

lol, it's ok...it happens sometimes

I just found out that someone i know got a 2400. He doesn't go to my school, and i don't know him that well, but....he got at 2400. This kid also bought a Calculus book from B and N two years ago (while he was looking for a Halo guide) and taught himself Calculus over the summer. Just to give you an idea of what kind of person he is.

one of the kids at our school scored a 2400. He's a sophomore . . . . .

Well the highest here is in the 2100 range,

I go to a public school in CA, and I got a 2400, so the two are obviously not mutually exclusive.

I would be interested to know how many questions those who got 2400s missed. I missed 1 in the Writing MC. :( Curses!

"I missed 1 in the Writing MC. Curses!"

i hope "curses" was a joke...missing 1 is awesome...

I was just surprised that I missed a question from the writing, since I expected to make stupid mistakes in the CR and Math like I did on the PSAT. In any case, I'm satisfied. :)

wow. i was proud of my 2100. but still, it's not like that's bad, right? i did better on the ACT. the SAT sucks! i wish i knew what these numbers meant for admissions purposes though. to me they're just numbers- i hate numbers!

I love how the ETS can affect ur future with their %!@*in tests. BTW ppl I feel stupid. I got a 2120 ( I m not being sarcastic)

I thought I did well with a 1380 (on the old SAT). But of course that was the highest score at my school (only 8 people took it out of a class of 405) and I wasn't really trying b/c the SAT doesn't really matter in my state (only two people [me and some other girl] took the SAT II's). IL is all about the ACT. I got a 33 in that which is much better. Oh well it doesn't really matter anymore anyways.

i got a 1380 on the old SAT and a 33 on the ACT too. weird...

so basically getting over a 1400 on the old test meant that you were possible ivy material.....so what is it for the new test? 2100? but that seems so low compared to all these perfect scores....even though it isn't.

I think that anything over 2100 has the potential for being Ivy material, but if you have around 2100, you probably need to have great GPA and ECs and clear "passion" in order to get in. I am banking everything I have on the idea that extremely high scores can make up for crappy ECs. So I will be back on this post after the October SAT to report my 2400. :)
