Who here is *truly considering case

So besides me who here is really considering case and not just using it as a safety?
For me its between Case and PSU(in-state). PSU gave me 12k for me to pay myself so Case has begun to look even stronger. I think that a good overnight visit would bring me even closer to Case (Im also overnighting as PSU)

I didn't get into MIT, so now Case is my #1 choice. I really like the environment, and it just feels like a "match."

I wholeheartedly recommend visiting the campus at some point before you make your decision so you can experience it firsthand. The Department of Undergraduate Admissions is really helpful if you're lost and confused (as I was), and sitting in on a class gives you a feel for their course load and the general classroom environment.

I dunno...i was considering Case...weatherhead is very solid...but im still waiting on 6 others...and i think id choose Ohio State Honors over case.....white male....better education at case...but better quality of life at OSU

My son is "truly" considering Case--he likes the smaller size, the smart student body, the access to fine arts in the area. He did a dorm overnight and still likes it!

It's my #1. The money is the only issue. It's a battle between miami (ohio) honors. I like everything about case more, but $9000 in loans is a heck of a lot. I'm visiting probably this weekend. Not with the experience case (I think these open houses are too planned). And it's my perfect size- a small university. And they're very strong in biochem + I could minor in photo and take classes at the cleveland museum! Plus it's close to home (2.5 hourish). I like the SAGES program. Plus it's prestigious. As you can see i'm in love with case (I applied to jhu, penn and usc too, but that's not going to happen). I hope to see you there!

cool Celebrian :) Im going to the overnight stay thing (31st - 2nd). Ill see if I like the atmosphere....I hope I do :)

It was, but I really don't know anymore. The large percentage of people from Ohio has really turned me off.

After Miami giving me 2000 in loans vs. case's 9000 case is looking like it might be harder for me to go there. Still hoping I can make Case happen though...

Yeah Celebrian that is a tough choice. What are you planning on majoring in?

biochemistry. An area Case shines in. But Miami isn't too shabby either. I'm visiting case the 15th and miami the 8th so I guess that might help me decide.

i just got rejected from Harvard so Case is looking pretty good now. I've visited campus a few times and I'm going to the overnight this weekend. I think I'm either going to go to Case or PSU-honors.

For me its between Case and U of Michigan
I'm visiting both on the 17th and 18th

I'm deciding between Case and U of Michigan, too. Visiting the 13th and 14th.

I'm strongly leaning towards Case at this point. Everyday it's becoming more and more likely. My Miami visit Monday determines whether it's worth taking 7000 more in loans per year to attend Case or if I can see myself at Miami

celebrian25, one thing I'd like to mention... it seems fairly easy at Case to become an RA (dorm Resident Advisor). There are Sophmores as RAs at Case. I don't have the details, but I believe an RA gets free room and board (worth more than $7,000 a year). You should look into the details about this (it wouldn't be relevant for first year either), but generally speaking, if Case is your preference, I think there are ways to make up most if not all that cost difference right on campus, or at least over the summer.

Perhaps a current Case student can comment here on RA positions and pay.

RA's get free housing in a single and a small stipend but not free board. They also get free summer housing in a single if they choose to stay on campus. They work about 15-20 hrs/week on avg.

Christine123,
I was in the same situation last year. Perhaps this link: http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=taiwanese_chickan&nextdate=4%2f12%2f2005+23%3a59%3a59.999, may help you. Who knows, those were my thoughts from last year. Of course, they might not match up to your thoughts, but I thought it was an interesting re-read.

ohh wow this is really making me lean towards Case(i have the exact same dilemma) although im gonna wait to see umich before i decide anything.

Is anyone here considering Case and is not from Ohio?

i'm not from ohio... I live in maryland.
