Who Offers Winter/Spring Admissions?

I know Kenyon College and Northwestern both offer admissions for academic quarters/semesters other than the Fall. Does anyone else know who offers this same policy?

I think many schools will allow you to come in the second term or a mid term.

Cornell, Brown, Harvard to add a few. The application deadline for Brown and Harvard are the same for both fall and spring applicants though.

Most large schools and publics do. Here's a brief list of ones that come to mind immediately: Cornell (I believe), Virginia, UW-Madison, UT-Austin, UC-Berkeley, Emory, Rollins, Binghamton, William & Mary, Georgia Tech, Harvard.

Among LACs: Vassar, Middlebury, Oberlin, Hobart & William Smith, Earlham, Barnard, Drake, Dickinson, Whittier, Occidental, Bates, Bowdoin, Trinity, Conn College (if spaces are available).

Schools that don't offer it: Stanford, Princeton (no transfer admissions at all), lots of LACs.

Spring admission is often the most competitive for transfers, but it's obviously different at each school.

UC Berkeley doet not offer applications for the winter or spring term. They do accept some people as spring admits. These people are those who did not make the cut (whatever that means) for the previous fall semester.

UCSB, i am 70% sure

I am nearly certain you can specify through the admissions department at Berkeley that you want to be considered for spring admission.

I have never heard of such a thing....

I wouldn't bet on it either, the ucop website indicates otherwise

highly doubt UCB will go against it.

Just checked a couple of other campuses. UCSD=Closed UCLA=CLosed

Merced and SB are open.

You do it by deferring. You apply for fall, then defer for spring. Seriously, I've read about it before, multiple times.

well beginning, I know several people who got into UCB for Spring from HS. NOne that were transfers. B/c to get into UCB as a transfer, u have to have all ur prereqs done. And if u have all ur prereqs done by the end of spring, what's the point and waiting another 6 month?

UCSD is open for winter, but only for TAG students

uc irvine is open
for spring

Deferment works on a indevidual school basis, some schools allow it for 1 symester, some for none.

Most schools will still need a final transcript from your prior school.

Vanderbilt, Villanova, Boston College, NYU and Miami all have Spring admissions for transfers. This is just off the top of my head though, there are tons! Be careful however. Read the fine print, because as a college may offer spring admissions, sometimes it is not offered for ALL programs/schools within the college!
