Who wants a Rice email/add themselves to the Rice Network on Facebook?

<p>Straight from a thread in the Rice University Class of 2013 group from Facebook-</p>

<p>Set up your NETID account (using your E-check payment thing that starts with an S)... You find this info on the email they sent you to send in your deposit.</p>

<p>And from that # you can set up the rest and get your webmail to update your FB. Only problem is... I can't seem to log back into my NETID account afterwards but the email works just fine"</p>

<p>Mine says “Invalid Data: The information that you entered can not be verified. This either means that the data you entered is incorrect or we have not received data about you from the Registrar/Human Resources,” when I try : ( </p>

<p>ask the monitor of the Rice thread to remove the individual’s name, politely, and it might be done, just explain you weren’t thinking straight…Shazheng and the student IDd can both make this request. Just use the Report Problem Post and “report yourself”</p>

<p>how do you get the ID number if your deposits were waived…? oh and i haven’t received any automated e-mails from Rice. To get my login information and everything I had to e-mail them. I think it might be because I have Hotmail… they might’ve mass blocked it or something (before it even gets to my mail), since I heard about that happening with Comcast and Northwestern. I didn’t get any of the e-mails from Northwestern either.</p>

<p>just log onto your account where you checked the status of your application. It should be on there on the top left corner of the page when you go to application status. (atleast i think thats where i found it)
if not then I know for sure that it is somewhere around there.</p>

<p>even if your deposit was waived you should still have a ID number because they send out generic emails for the deposit thing…</p>

<p>I know because my deposit was also waived… And if you emailed for your login info and stuff they should have sent you the generic email with the congratulation on admissions and you need to pay deposit stuff (cause generic email meaning don’t know yours was waived).</p>

<p>I set up my net id last night, but I cant remember my username (netID)? any ideas? I tried lastname.mi.firstname
didnt work
I also created a “vanity address”</p>

<p>NetID is your initials followed by a (usually one-digit) number. No spaces.</p>

<p>Hmm… still can’t find my ID. and after I e-mailed for my login stuff, I never got the generic e-mail… my friend actually told me that decisions had been e-mailed. Checked mine and got nothing :frowning: had to go to the link I was sent before when I asked for login stuff. After I accepted for Rice I only got this e-mail:</p>

It will be a couple of hours before your email starts working, make sure you use your net ID to log in over here.

<p>So is your Rice email login info the exact same as you Esther Account login info? You just use your Net ID and your PIN number, right?</p>

<p>you use your esther account info to get your NET ID set up and then you can get your Rice email from the NET ID thing</p>
