The app is only open from October 1st to November 1st. So if you submitted in September, it shouldn't have even been considered. Right?

You might try resubmitting everything.

man, reading these posts made me realize I have no chance, so I'm almost regretting that I started to apply :(

I'm almost finished with my essays and plan on sending them on Monday the latest. Am I the only one who has not submitted their application?

Also, can someone explain what "rolling basis" means, in terms of Spring transfers and Cornell, I wikipedia-d it, but I'm still unsure.

Anyways, good luck to everyone!

Rolling basis just means that they view the applications as they come in. Presumably, you have a better shot if you apply earlier, but I don't know if that's necessarily true since a lot of applications that were in early still haven't been processed.

oh. :( well thank you!

Just submitted the common app! Got one of the supplement essays almost done. I'm so close, then I have to work with the registrar to get my college official sheet mailed in.

The pressure is on!

I don't think Cornell does rolling admissions... Hence the clear November 1st date... If they did rolling admissions, wouldn't they make it clear that it was the last date to get priority?

Cornell has rolling admissions for freshman applicants but only for students who apply to Hotel, CALS and I believe ILR. I don't know how spring transfer admission works since there is a shorter time frame...but I do know for fall transfer admission Cornell releases the first batch of decisions in late April and continues sending decisions until mid-June.

well, on their website with deadlines and stuff, it said "rolling admissions" which is what caused my confusion because there is a deadline.

Also, I noticed a lot of people are talking about getting their ID, since I haven't sent in my app yet (doing it online) can someone tell me how that happens. I have already sent in Financial aid, recs, and transcripts, just not the application.

Also, can I pay before I send in my app?

One more essay to go!

I think you have to submit your application before you pay. After I submitted my application, they sent me an ID about a week later.

I just noticed that the application process has made me lazy towards my school work. I really don't feel like doing anything. Uhhh, I wish I could just finish the semester right now!

BTW, do you guys know anything about the transfer numbers for CAS in spring? I know that in the fall, CAS is pretty selective(14%). Also, is there a waitlist because a lot of the people who get in don't end up transferring.

I don't think they have stats for just spring. I could be wrong though.

I remember calling a while back..I think only 40 or 50 people apply to CAS for spring, and the acceptance rate is similar/maybe slightly higher than fall (but are the applicants more competitive?).

My App is downloaded already (one day)! I wonder if they've got more people working on this, what with all the problems that some of you have been having.

I highly recommend everyone checks this fact website out. Shows all the statistics for transfers and even for each college.

Cornell Factbook - Undergraduate Admissions

P.S. I'm so happy, my application is entirely complete!

Yeah, but it doesn't show the stats for just spring transfers.

And HopingFor, the application usually gets downloaded right away it just takes some time for it to show up on the self-service.

Even though they say transfer admissions is rolling, I doubt it really is. First, they don't start processing apps until Oct 1. Second, because the deadline is November 1st, it is likely that everyone sends in their COMPleted application close to November. Thus, they are likely to review everyone at the same time.

lol..If the acceptance rate at CAS in spring is that low, then only 4-5 people will be accepted. Oh well, whoever is applying to CALS should be happy; the chance of you getting in is 1/2.

Haha. That's me zac. So I'm Almost guarenteed admission and I get a cheaper tuition bill.

I wouldn't be too sure. The stats usually include guaranteed transfers as well.
