I'm guessing you guys are all off a little bit. I think that admissions takes everyone's application into equal consideration, just like Fall admissions. Spring admission, if it is about 40-50 people, would be an equal class of student, but admission rates would still would be the same.

They probably say that the percent is about the same, but that's just because the divide of students is similar to the Fall admissions. You have good students, great students, some so-so students, and ones that don't have a chance... That's gonna be the case in either transfer term. So, don't freak out and assume that they only take 4 or 5. They're still looking for the best... Even if they have 40 bests.

hmmm...lol..the numbers are making me think of applying to CALS instead of CAS(I'm a Chemistry/Biology double major). I'm done all the requirements for Junior transfers except the Academic writing requirement; I only have 1 english course. Are they picky about the requirements(I know, stupid question)?

HumEc and ILR require Math SAT II's. I never took one in HS, and now I'm a freshman in college applying to HumEc (maybe ILR) and I don't have a Math SAT II...what should I do? I have 2 subject tests in Eng Lit and World History.

zakaqel, the published numbers DO include GT's. More than 1 person in cornell admissions has told me this. I believe special students are visiting students, they are not GT's. With that said, CALS is still easier to get into than CAS, but if you don't meet all the prereqs, it is probably automatic rejection.

GTs are included, making the CALS external transfer rates very misleading. The toughest majors in CALS have acceptance rates around 14% to 25% (AEM and Bio).

I emailed admissions, I'm waiting for a response. Sorry I'm just freaking out here! I can't believe I might have to take another SAT subject test - I thought I was done with them after 11th grade!

I think if you're applying as a junior transfer, CALS puts more weight on completion of pre-reqs than they would for a sophomore transfer (I guess you would be in the middle?). I would call and ask if you're seriously considering it.

When do we get ApplicantIDs? I'm guessing they don't matter because I read somewhere that nothing is updated online, actual mailings are the only communication that something is missing or the status of the application.

The commonapp website says my supplement was downloaded on 10/16 but the self service thing still says i did not submit it. Everything else is in though.

Called in about the supplement (mine was downloaded 10/20), and they said that they haven't received it, and that I should call back in a couple days if the self-service website isn't updated.

I wouldn't worry, my college/major, or supplement hasn't been received yet even though I submitted it a while ago. Even worse, my SAT scores have been erased. =]

Yeah, I think they're definitely having problems because of PeopleSoft. I'm sure stuff will be "found" and updated when they can figure out the glitch.
