Who's applying for Spring transfer 09'-Cornell

Seriously, I never knew I was capable of writing that good of an essay. I just finished both essays of the supp. I'm glad that I waited this long to submit them in.

I am most likely not going to visit this forum after today(or at least try not to). I don't want to think too much about the application process. Since the due date has passed, you can't change anything.

I'll tell you about the results once they are in.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Yup, not going to be too much to report for the next few weeks. Hopefully some of us start hearing back thanksgiving break, the rest early December. Everyone post any update though!

I submitted my supplement last night and they downloaded it today. I am pretty confident, but have a lot of work to do at my current school and jobs to distract me from thinking about it too much since I will be waiting until December. Good luck to everyone else.

We might hear back by Thanksgiving Break? That would be crazy.

Alright!!! All Apps should be in! Can't wait to hear back!

Enjoy the thrill.

i submitted my supplement on time(which has been downloaded) and my common app(which has not been dowloaded) 10 minutes late...i hope this doesn't kill me...

I think you should be okay. I don't think they would be unreasonable about it.

Illusion, you're fine. They allow submission of applications across all time zones until the end of November 1st. So unless it was technically Nov 2nd across the world, you sent it in on time.

Why would you hand it in the last minute anyway? See the way I see it is:whenever you apply for something, you send you application in asap. First it shows how interested you are. Second, it shows how well you manage your time. Third, first come-first serve, which may not apply in this case.

^ superstition.

For spring transfers...not so much. For fall transfers....usually.

I'll just assume that HereandNow is confused about the definition of "superstition" (unless my statement had some sort of magical undertone to it). In any case, applying early is a must for jobs internships, and -soon for me- med school. Every applicant to med school knows that applying early gives them an advantage over late comers.

To Dewdrop: yea, that's why I indicated "which may not apply in this case"

jset1989, that may be true in most cases, but they don't exactly get a lot of spring transfer apps. From what I was told by Cornell, they don't even look at them until they are done with ED apps. What I did was submit my common app early in the month since it was ready (filing period was only oct 1-nov 1), and take my time perfecting my supplement essay, and I submitted it the day before it was due. I had all the mail in materials outside of midterm grades sent right after I submitted the main app.

I highly doubt that I will be at any disadvantage with only a 1 month filing period and very little apps going to each college at Cornell. The bigger disadvantage would have been if I rushed my app and didn't use the time to improve my essays.

Again, I mentioned it may not apply in this case. But wtvr, apps are in. Have fun to all of you with all your midterms and papers. I cannot come back to this forum until decisions have been made, as that would subtract precious time from my studies. Good bye.

I wish.....midterms and papers are more fun than working full-time in the adult world.

Spoken like a true pre-med.......eesh. As an applicant who successfully transferred to Cornell (and just graduated) I was just trying to clarify some information you posted...relax.

Hermanns, how do you know that they don't look at spring transfer apps until they're done with ED freshmen?

If that's true then how many people they take will probably be correlated with how strong the freshmen applicants are.

I was told that by an adcom, but I guess it is possible other colleges at cornell could operate differently, but I doubt it. I assume they just want to get ED applicants completely out of the way prior to beginning spring transfers instead of both simultaneously. I wish they would do it the other way around though.
