Who's going to the February Open House???

I am, and I can't wait!

I will definetely see you there

very cool....i think that when it gets closer, those of us who are going should post our pics and learn names so that we can recognize each other at the open house.

I responded to the RSVP.

I have yet to make flight and hotel reservations, however. My parents say that reservations are usually made about a month before the actual trip (which means sometime this week or next week).

Any suggestions? I'm looking at the hotels in Arlington that they recommended.

we made reservations at the Courtyard Marriout.....The courtyard is always a nice place to stay....that, and a lot of the other places that were closer were filled up. I reccommend making your reservations as soon as you can, becasue i've heard that they usually get quite a few people who come into the area.

Thanks Caddyshack4.

Since my dad said that I'm the one who wants to go, I get to plan it, I thought of several areas. Now that I know about the Courtyard Mariott, I will take that into consideration.

In terms of finding a hotel, it's not too terrible I think. If things get too crowded, I'll find a place in Bethseda, Alexandria, or even Anapolis since I'm probably flying in to BWI (Baltimore Washington International).

awesome....i believe we're flying into JFK. Lemme know if you do decide to stay at Courtyard Marriout, cuz it would be neat to know someone staying in the same hotel.

JFK? You're flying in to New York, and then driving down to Washington, D.C.?

How long is the drive?

HAHAHA JFK.....my bad....Wrong president......I mean Reagan

Awwwww... I wanna go! :(

did you apply RD?

No... I actually got in EA, but my mom doesn't want me to go because of $ and because she wants to know where else I'll be accepted.

too bad, I hear it's an awesome time. We'll be sure to let you know all the details about it when we get back though...so you won't miss it completely.

Thanks!

Hopefully, with some persuasion, I'll be able to go to one in April...

going, and we're staying at the hotel monticello, supposedly 10 minute walk to GU. Does anyone know anything about this hotel? I hope we picked a good one!

Arriving Thursday 9:00 a.m., departing Sunday 7:00 p.m.

Redr002: Where did you make the reservation? Online? I was thinking about the Monticello after I found out that I really need to get things going. My dad's on a business trip and I haven't been able to book it without his permission. He's coming back today though.

I RSVPd for February. My mom, however, insists that one of the nearby hotels will always be able to accomodate a walk-in, so she won't make reservations.

hope you get lucky and find an opening

Just finished booking my flight, car, and hotel!

Dressagechick: Good luck finding a hotel! They are plenty of hotels in DC so there should be some left when Feb. rolls around. If worse comes to worse, you could stay in Annapolis and drive.

eiffelguy, so sorry, haven't checked back in since I posted that. But yes, I booked online. Which hotel did you end up picking, same one? Rate is $125
