This is a very quiet place. Is there anyone else out there who is on pins and needles waiting for a letter from Gburg? It's dd's first choice, but we did not apply ed due to financial concerns. Wishing, hoping, praying for good financial aid. I'm fairly certain she will get a yes an the admission decision, but it all hinges on aid. Fingers and toes crossed.

Hey,buddy, I don’t understand why you didn’t apply to Gburg under ED. I applied to Gburg under ED2 just because I need an awful lot of financial aid (FC $15000/year). Anyway, wish you good luck. Hopefully, we can be classmates in 6 months!

@xw1992: do u know when the decisions will be out? I’m waiting desperately for mine…
plus I need superb fin aid (around 40-50k) …

OP here. XW1992, my daughter did not apply either of the ED rounds despite Gburg being her first chioice because an ED acceptance obligates one to attend. If the financial aid was not adequate, I would have been in a real bind, especially since she has now received two offers of full tuition scholarships at other schools. While not her first choices, if need be, she could be happy at these two financial safeties. She is REALLY hoping for Gburg, though.

Shenkichi93, I actually went back and checked old posts on this board, and it seems for the past several years decisions have come out around March 18/19. So, I would hope for the end of next week or earlly the following week. Just a guess, though.

Hi, ctinct, congratulations on the two offers of full tuition scholarships! Your daughter must be very outstanding! Regarding to the ED agreement, I think most schools hold on to the policy that they will fully meet ED applicants’ financial need if the committee decides to accept the applicants. And if the school can’t meet some applicant’s financial need, the committee will usually defer that applicant to RD pool instead of accepting him or her with insufficient financial aid. That’s what an admission officer told me when I told her the same concern I used to have.

Shenkichi93, hi, sorry I’m not really sure about the exact date on which the results will come out, but ctinct seems to have an anwser for your question. I’m surprised that your need is even larger than mine. So I’m really curious to know if you are an American? I’m a Chinese

I’m a Nepali and I too need huge sum of financial aid.

Thank you ctinct. Congratulation on those two scholarships!
Hi xw1992, I’m from Vietnam :)

Did any international student hear from them?

Nope…I haven’t…seems like no one is getting nervous…I am dying!!!

easy, buddy…the results are coming soon…bu sure to check your status online because I think your notification will be updated online first

@xw1992
i thought the decision will only come through mail?..

like it says on the website:
Our admissions decisions will be mailed to students from the end of March through early April. Admissions decisions will not be posted in myGettysburg.

zhiyioakdal, this information is not exact. If you have a Gettysburg online account, your decision will come out first there. And you may also receive an Email from Gettysburg College. International students will typically get the mail 1 or 2 weeks later than the decision comes out online.

How do we create a gettysburg online account? I don’t remember any information on that

Sent from my Droid using CC App

@xw1992…I see now…so worried about all the decisions…haven’t heard anything from them…

I’ve been checking the mail, and this website daily!! Whenever someone hears from Gettysburg, please post it on here so I can relax and feel better about not being the ONLY one that hasn’t heard back yet! Thank you!

I just got a letter today. I’m on the waiting list. Now I have to decide if I want to stay on the waiting list or not.

so the waitlist letters are sent out already…

Just got my acceptance in the mail! I AM SO EXCITED.

Good luck to those who are still waiting!

Got my acceptance today!
I’m sure everyone one else will be hearing soon one way or the other so good luck!
