Why are most minorities underachieveing?

The culture in those minorities is the result of the historical oppression of minorities

Says the man who can get a job because the company wants to appear diverse.

i was just about to say that, scales. high five.

black culture in america is nothing like african culture in africa. slaveowners made a point of stripping cultural traditions.

^^^Exactly. After hundreds of years of oppression and denied opportunities, can we really expect black people to be on the same level as more successful populations just 40-50 years after gaining rights? It’s kind of like a war vet: no one expects someone who’s spent months in Iraq or Afghanistan to come home without any kinks. We expect this person to suffer from some kind of trauma.

what’s your point?

Because Africans really value education, right?

The problem isn’t that you’re “stripped of your African culutre.” The problem is that many of them try to hang onto their culture and don’t assimilate to American culture ie hardwork through education —> better job ----> social mobility.

We were reading a story in english one day about a southern slave owner who got hanged
My teacher was like " do you guys feel sorry for him"
Black kids say no, White kids say yes
English teacher"even tho he was a slave owner"
White girl"well he was fighting for what he believed in"
I mean ***, i mean terrorists fight for what they believe in…

But would you expect his kid to come out of the womb with PTSD? Your analogy is accurate for former slaves, but they’re dead brah.

That white girl was a dumbass. There’s lots of em. I don’t feel sorry for the slave owner. What’s your point?

Last time I checked white people were barbarians who were only education by the church…

^^^I was thinking on a grander scale: the whole black population is the war vet.

what if you grew up in a society with nothing but war vets, all with crippling PTSD? it will take years for all of the ideas that were put into peoples head during slavery regarded white supremacy and ‘dominant culture’ and etc, to leave. just because the slaves are dead doesn’t mean the wounds aren’t still there.

you talk about social mobility, but you obviously have never heard of the glass ceiling.

Blacks in America are arguably more religious than whites…

Slaves needed something to cling to during slavery

hahah obviously your only idea of africa comes from AIDS rallies and starving ethiopian kids on daytime television commercials.

^^^^Exactly! You put it so much better than I ever could have. I’m really terrible with expressing myself in writing. Lol.

You don’t need to be a CEO. All it would take is a $40,000 salary to “break the cycle.” Although, $40,000 seems like a hell of a lot when you don’t graduate highschool/go to college.

you’ve got to be kidding me.

blacks in america are following the dominant culture’s judeo christian beliefs because they were FORCED TO DURING SLAVERY. voudoun and other indigenous beliefs were thought barbarian and they were punished for practicing those.

statistically, you will get the same education as your parents, make about the same money and you will work in the same field. that’s why there is affirmative action, because statistically, the cycle will continue. the rich stay rich, the poor stay poor.

^^ And the whites are just following some BS pushed by a guy named christ 2000 years ago. How is that relevant?
