Why are South Campus building so damn ugly?

The north campus buildings are beautiful....but then we went into Boelter Hall....reminded me a lot of high school = ugly concrete box

but its all part of the joy of being a science major!!! :D

I'm no Civil Engineering major, but North Campus is mostly flat terrain, thus permitting flat Romanesque architecture. Boelter Hall, Math Sciences and the Life Sciences complex are built into the side of a ~30 foot embankment. For a building style that's uneven and mostly underground, the fancy brick won't suffice; you need reinforced concrete to cope with the foundation.

It's all structurally reinforced so that in the case of the nuclear holocaust, all the important people (i.e. engineers) survive both the initial blasts and fall out, allowing America to be rebuilt on the minds of our best and brightest, i.e. not North Campus majors. Either it was something like that or the fact that South Campus is built into the side of a giant hill.

Lol great response x]

Just awesome.

mcgizzle wins.

This one cracked me up. Obviously there is no one CE major here:)

I heard the buildings match the looks of the students, we all know how those south campus kids look (have u ever seen the movie elephant man?)

true....too bad McDonalds only hires good looking kids

At least I'll look good in the red and yellow flipping the fries playa. The smell on my fingers won't be from the mcfish sandwiches too..if u catch my drift playa

"I'm lovin it"

"...mcfish sandwiches..."

Filet-O-Fish. Minced Alaskan pollack, deep-fried and slathered in tartar sauce.

'the smell on my fingers won't be from the mcfish sandwiches too..if u catch my drift playa"

L-O-L

sidenote: the filet-o-fish is really good.

Yes it is =)

dude at 1:00 in the morning, south campus looks like gotham city
