i find it funny though, people always say that selection is bad at their school and when you go over there, it's like "wow, you have so much better guys" and they think the same about your school. i guess spending 4 years w/ the same people gets boring or something

I move a lot, so it's not even the spending 4 years with them thing. I think we just know too much about everyone at our schools, and they become unappealing.

i've lived in the same place all my life and well, it would be kinda weird if i dated someone i knew in kindergarten. i mean, those guys usually grow up as your friends and only your friends.

As I'm writing this post, we both have 229 posts. =)

Anyway, I would agree that dating someone you've known since kindergarten is really weird. I wouldn't do it. That'd almost be like dating your adopted brother. >>shudder<<

lol. i know... my best friend said that she'd never date her really close family friend b/c 1) it screws over ur friendship afterwards. 2) she's seen him naked when he was like 3 or 4.

sigh i wonder how prom will turn out like next year...

That's precisely why the majority of companies today hire female secretaries. It's more soothing to a customer than the voice of a male. Which causes bias in hiring secretaries, making males all ****ed off, even though thats probably one of the very few jobs that is biased toward females.

I don't like talking on the phone, and I'm a girl.

I HATE phones with a passion. I don't own a cell phone and I disconnect my home phone because the sound of ringing annoys the hell out of me. I am also a girl.

I LOVE sweeping generalizations about any group of people.

Girls love to talk on the phone.

Black people love fried chicken.

Mexicans mow my lawn.

Men love power tools.

People in the Cafe scare me, in that these are the people that are going to college these days.

college is ok. some of these people are probably gonna rule the country someday. now, thats scary.

They may rule me in body but never in mind.

I know I love talking on the phone with my best friends, and can go on about nothing for hours. But it's always mutual, like, if either of us need to go we just say hey sorry gtg and we're fine with it. I would also never call someone who wasn't a close friend to talk for hours at a time. Maybe 1/2 hour max if we had stuff to talk about. I think with a really close friend it's easier to just say whatever pops into your head, almost without limit, while with people I know a little less well, I censor myself just a little bit (like, I WON'T say, "wow, my ceiling looks really weird, I wonder how many times it's been painted, likem ever?" to a friend, but I would say that to a close friend, because we both know it will lead into something else like her going "dude we just got our ceilings replastered, and the guy was really hot!" which could turn into all sorts of things). It's more talking for the sake of talking, just like how you can hang out with someone and not necessarily say anything, but still have fun. I think it may have to do with the whole female herd mentality. Now, I'm not trying to say all girls are like this, but as a general thing, girls are more group oriented, and so they (at least myself and most girls I know) crave that "hanging out" feeling, which you can get by talking on the phone.

That's my take on it. But I would never call someone at 1am--especially if I know they've got a funky work schedule. That's just rude. I would also never have that type of conversation with someone I'm not super uber good friends with.
