That looks like a realistic list. Pace and Montclair are safeties. What EC’s do you have?

I’ve tutored children from 10th grade-current. That’s basically all the community service I have but I really enjoy it.

Key Club: 11th & 12th grade (I find out tomorrow if I’ll be VP or not!)
Erase Club, Conservation Club- 11th and 12th grade
Model Congress- 12th grade (My friend got me into it..I wish I joined it as a freshman)

I realize my EC’s aren’t that great but..

My rec will be amazing, I’ve had the same italian teacher for 4 years and pretty much loves me. (Her class, from day one, has been challenging and I’m her first student to take the italian sats). I also paid for 3 college credits for taking italian for 4 years, and I will receive them as long as I have a C or higher in italian IV. I don’t know if there’s a space on the common app for that..

I talked to my counselor last week and informed me that I’m in top 14% of the class. Also, I should do well on the ACTs.

bump I was wondering what people thought of my list

Pace and Montclair will probably take you if you complete the application; the others get a lot of qualified applicants so you need to stand out somewhat; maybe if you have a great essay or teacher recs or make it obvious that you do worthwhile things outside of schoolwork. Do you work over the summer or part time during the year?

People with worst stats than mine get into Montclair..people who are in top 40% or whatever so I’m not worried about. (Most of the people from my HS go there) My essay is amazing, I love writing and they’ll definetly be able to see my talent. My teacher rec is from my italian teacher that I’ve had for 4 years, as I mentioned before. If I had gotten another teacher, my gpa and class rank would probably be higher…she was TOUGH from day one. She knows me as a person, the things I had to go through past few years, etc basically always there for me.

I started working over the summer and right now I’m just working weekends.

You have the stats to get into any of those schools if you package yourself right; the essay is important, especially if your teacher recs confirm you always write that way! The fact that you love tutoring kids is good, Italian is unique, just make sure all your best qualities stand out; the admissions people have very little time to review everything because of all the other apps.

Thanks =) I mean I know I really need to do well on the acts and sat subject tests for a decent chance but I’m really giving it my all..
