I’ve applied to Rutgers Early Action in mid October, and I know responses usually come around December. All my other friends got in and they’ve applied Early Action, but guess who wasn’t, (me). It makes me worried as one of my friend applied and he got in regular decision and yet I am still waiting. My grades have improved over the years, i have filled in the requirements for the schools, do extra activities and have a decent sat score.
Is this a way to show I’ve been rejected, or defered to regular decision or what?
It makes me worried and I just want some peoples thoughts as it helps me, since its hard to talk to others about it.
Not hearing anything is NOT a way to show you’ve been rejected or deferred- the outcome will be clearly communicated to you when the decision is ready.
Does Rutgers have an admissions portal where you can log in and check your status? If not, simply call admissions, ask them to double check that all your materials were received, and politely inquire as to when you should expect a decision.
Good luck!
Only one batch of applicants got responses to Rutgers NB Early Action so far. Don’t sweat it, tons of people didn’t get their response yet.
Looking at previous data, the next batch of admission decisions should come out within 2 weeks, most likely between January 15-20(this is off previous data, could be wrong). Also, as leafconey said we are all waiting as well, so don’t think you’re the only one out there if that makes you feel better.
Giving hundreds of people a rejection letter is easy for schools to do, it’s simply a prewritten letter eloquently telling them they are not accepted. You would have gotten it by now, it would have been easy for them to just let you go. If you have not received it you are STILL in the running. Keep your hopes up, you never know.
I applied around the same time as you and I am also worried because im still “In Process” for all the schools I applied to.
