Why is UCR known for UC Reject or UC Retards?

well, a view from last year is completely different from the view from this year. Have you even read a single article about UCR? UCR has changed, so this thread is not really applicable to this year’s view of UCR. Even if we are still rejects, get over it. really. I was over it long time ago. And I consider UCR as blessing.

Being at UCR is a Blessing, and be proud of it. I graduated with honors but I went to UCM because I am from Fresno, and I wasn’t ready to go far from home (I’m the baby of the family). I chose UCM over UCSD. Some think I’m crazy, but its w/e I’m happy here at I’ll be transferring to somewhere more prestigious in 2012.

I can’t understand someone would be embarrassed by any UNIVERSITY. Just having a degree puts you ahead of majority of society. And to me…that’s all that really matters :)

I think this piece of information overrides all the bad mouthing…

USA Today ranked UCR #15 school in the nation in 2010. So… I don’t think it is a reject school anymore(if it ever was to begin with).

PLUS! The recent good PR UCR has received from Chancellor Tim White being on the finale of “Undercover Boss” will substantially help all the nay-saying UCR has.

If you wish to know why, then just observe the posts of prospective/current UCR students; there are quite a few of them which contain HORRENDOUS grammar. Where do the ad-coms get these jokers from? (Please do not attempt to answer my rhetorical question)

Guys, we should respect GrammarNazi. He goes to UCLA. They have freaking epiphanies every time they study.

GrammarNazi: there’s some pretty crappy grammar in the UCLA forum as well. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume that they’re foreign…

This is one of GrammarNazi’s recent posts:

"You still have a chance, considering that there are individuals who writes like a high school drop-out got in. "

You can find it in this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-riverside/1138050-getting-d.html

That should tell you everything you need to know about GrammarNazi.

Ironically, don’t you think that your post kinda works like an amplifier for that stereotype?

I didn’t know UCR could mean UC Reject until I read this post.

I could careless about the stereotype. Just cause they attend the prestigious school does not mean they are superior than us. In life, after we graduate, we all start in the same position and that is square 1. The only difference is how much insights and experience can you get of your school.
