A friend who's going to Cornell next year is looking through the forums provided by the University's website...I couldn't find a forum provided by the University's website for admitted students...do we not have one? What's up with that? Is this common with Universities? I think it would be a helpful feature.

i think we have facebook :P and myspace 2010 lol

I don't think formal forums are tha common, but I think it would be fine if one were created. IN fact, I think there should be at least one. Livejournal is popular, as is this site, and I guess myspace.

I think it would definitely be helpful and fun to have a forum...maybe I'll push for one next year when I attend.

You know what vicissitudes, you have the right attitude for Cal! I'm sure you will do very well there! :)

Then you realize the Bureacracy will be too thick for you to penetrate and that most of the student body is too undisciplined and disinterested for you to make a meaningful student group. Yeah, there are lots of student groups on campus but you'd probably have to dig a lot deeper to find one that was actually trying to do something meaningful rather than padding their resumes.

haha so much cynicism. go for it vicissitudes. i've only heard about a bunch of berkeley blogs, but no forums.
