Why was I put on the waitlist when there are 13 seats open?

Limit:17 Enrolled:4 Waitlist:1 Avail Seats:13

i'm the 1 on the waitlist.

what gives? lol

They don't like you. The seats are saved for the majors/seniors/whoever.

it's engR1B though. don't ppl usually complete that in the first 2 years?

check the restrictions. it might be one of those rank restrictions. that freshies are given a back seat priority while sophs are 1st priority, but i dont know why it would be there for r1b. nonetheless check the restrcitons. if you cant find it post the link from the schudule.berkely.edu here.

Some English R1B classes have a lot of seats saved for instructor approval via class entry code.

weird, there are no restrictions.

<a href="http://infobears.berkeley.edu:3400/osc/?_InField1=RESTRIC&_InField2=16514&_InField3=08B4%5B/url%5D">http://infobears.berkeley.edu:3400/osc/?_InField1=RESTRIC&_InField2=16514&_InField3=08B4</a></p>

No, that links says that open seating is full and that there are open seats by instructor approval only. However, they likely will let you in if you're on the waitlist for the class since there are 13 seats under instructor approval. Weird though.

what the heck. for some reason, it's changed and now it says open seating is open.

Seats have been reserved for:

Instructor Approval; a Class Entry Code is required to enroll in these seats. (Open)

Open seating (Open)

[/quote]

lol should i try dropping the class and then re-adding it to get an open seat?

well i still does say reserved for instructor approval, so i think the restrictions are still there.
