Will 2 SAT II tests suffice?

I want to apply to Middlebury, a school that requires "either the ACT; or the SAT I administered on or after March 12, 2005; or three exams in different areas of study from the SAT IIs" (I pulled that from their website). I was wondering, then, if I have taken the ACT, would taking just two SAT II tests help me if I score well on them?

I got a decent score on the ACT (29), but not something that would put me at an advantage above other good students. College board says that the average range of ACT scores at Middlebury are from 29-33. I will be taking the ACT two more times in June and October (with ridiculous amounts of preparation this time), so I may increase my score. However, I am thinking of taking the SAT II Literature and Spanish subject tests, as I believe I will do well on them.

Would it be worthless to just do two? Or do I have to tack on a third for it to be worth my time?

Try doing some math/science. Lit and spanish are kinda similar since they’re languages. You want to show Middlebury that you are a well-rounded person. GL

“Would it be worthless to just do two?”
It wouldn’t be worthless. Most schools only require two subject tests. The only time you’d have to worry is if it’s Yale or another high ivy. Here’s a good rule of thumb, take a Math one, a Science one, and if you take a third make it a humanity that you’re skilled in.

Yale requires 2 not 3, same at Columbia. Harvard, Princeton and Georgetown require 3. Most schools require 2 or less… It’s best to go to the school’s admissions page.
