What's wrong with you? Of COURSE you'll be rejected...Harvard HATES 2400s!

A serious response, in case you are for real: Yes, Harvard may reject 67% of 2400s, but that also means they accept 33% of 2400s, a rate which is much higher than the overall acceptance rate. Getting a 2400 will help you, not hurt you, but remember that colleges are putting much less weight on standardized tests than they used to, which is why harvard is bragging about not accepting 2400s--they want students who excel in other areas to apply, too, especially URMs and athletes. As long as your ECs and academics are up to par, getting a 2400 will definitely not hurt you. Good luck!

hahaha
welll it might, bc u were stupid enough to retake a 2360, implying u have no life. lol

" they want students who excel in other areas to apply, too, especially URMs and athletes. "

How much weight do you think colleges put on you if you have a lot of ECs with ok grades in comparison to just a student with straight A's and say, a 2300-2400 score?

33% of 2400s are accepted but are they accepted because of other factors too?

What a generic question right? but just since this thread is getting stupid I was wondering...haha

LOL at the people who don't get the joke. This thread gave me a much-needed laugh. Thanks

Great that you improved, but I think the 2360 was sufficient. You don't to seem like you are neurotic. You want to look like a normal high schooler who is interested in dating/sports/movies/ etc... It also shows that you are confident with the 2360, they should be happy with the 2360 because you are. Try to keep things in perspective.

I'd say you have a better chance with a good GPA and high SAT and okay ECs than you would with good ECs and an okay GPA. Also, there are of course other factors that play into the 33% acceptance rate, but overall, if you have a 2400, good ECs, and a good GPA, you have a better chance of getting in than someone with a lower SAT score, good ECs, and a good GPA.

Guys, this is obviously a joke thread, poking fun at all "If I have 'x' score for SAT, will that hurt my chances? Should I retake it?" threads that pop up after an official SAT test day, or around the day SAT scores come out.

Ok, now you dont deserve to get into HYP

Haven't you noticed that EVERYBODY working the counter at McDonald's these days scored a 2400? Poor slobs couldn't get into any colleges. Furthermore...

I couldn't get a date in high school...I was TOO good looking.

what a show off.

the answer if obvious.

....proof that the SATs do not measure intelligence.

I think you'll be stuck throwing burgers for the rest of your life n00b. Only morons get 2400's.

wow..u got a 2400..what a tragedy!
try getting a 1400,maybe they'll accept u!

Where is this statistic coming from (that Harvard rejects 67% of perfect scores)?

Sources, sources?

Don't worry about it. Be proud of your accomplishment because many people would kill you have your score. You never know what would happen unless you try and apply.!!!! BE CONFIDENT!!!!

I know a guy who retook a 2370 for a 2390. He got into Yale, Brown, Penn, Columbia, and Northwestern HPME. He's now at Northwestern.

Fred,

Speaking from a parents point of view... I think your friend would have gotten in with the previous score as well. I don't think the additional 20 pts helped at all.

well you certainly accomplished your intention of showing off your 2400 to everyone. happy now?
i'm interested in seeing your EC's
besides, 2360 is basically a 2400.
and besides that, Ivies don't brag about anything. they don't need to. You don't get into Ivies purely with test scores anyway. don't even know why you retook a 2360.
For making this ridiculous thread, you definitely do deserve 3 pages of other posters laugh at you
browngirl apparantly actually answered his post seriously wow. be confident? your telling his conceited gigantic ego to be confident?! pleaz
