will a D or F in non uc class look bad in admissions?

I mean obviously it would look bad, but would it make a difference in admissions?
my goal schools are UCB and if it didnt work out then ucsd, i have a bad teacher in CC for my intermediate algebra class i feel i understand better from the book then him, i got 2 D's so far i dont know if the last one before the final is going to make any difference, as the exams has 54% and final has 40% so it looks like D is pretty much on the spot for me. Even though its not UC transferable, im afraid it would hurt my chances at UCB since i want to apply as engineering/science major, and i want to complete the whole calculus sequence before i want to transfer, should i withdraw it and get a W or do my best and risk getting a D or F and repeat it? (i have a W from my last semester)
what would you do if you were me?

3.5 GPA looking to raise it to 3.8 with all prerequistes done for UCB

PLEASE HELP I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO

no. They won’t even see it. But Grad schools will.

@^ and USC.

Drop? And re-take it. Work and study harder because Calculus is way harder than Intermediate Algebra. And there are no easy Professors in CAL, all the hard professors at your CC will be considered an “easy” professor at CAL.
