Will a terrible SAT II matter?

Hey everyone,

Welp, I took the SAT IIs and ended up with a 540 on my spanish (~25 percentile). I did get a 790 MathL2 and a 780 Chem, but will the terrible spanish scored tacked on hurt? I am applying for engineering, so I don't think it would matter a lot, but I'm thinking at good schools between even applicants it might put me at a disadvantage. >.<

I've taken 5 years of spanish, and I have spoken pretty well with actual spanish speakers i met in florida on vacation (jajaja). They complimented me and told me my spanish was very good, but apparently not good enough for the SAT II. I also took two practice tests and got a 660 and 700. I have no idea how that test destroyed me like that.

where are/have you appl(ied)?

Well, the schools I want to go to that I applied to are Dartmouth, Duke, Cornell, and Princeton (I'm guessing it will hurt there, but I doubt I had a chance there to begin with anyway).

Actually, the tests are skewed towards native speakers; most universities know that they're difficult, and some even give language credit for scores in the mid-or high 400s (Tufts definitely does, I know). Your other scores are good, don't worry over this one too much.

Thanks a lot Noldo, that makes me feel a lot better. =)
