Will an F on a second marking period exam deter colleges from admitting me?

hey everyone!

so essentially, I’ve just found out I’ve failed a quarterly for my ap comp sci class. however, this does not have an effect on my gpa until the end of the year, when we have taken all four quarterlies (we take one quarterly at the end of each marking period). for both the first and second marking period I received an A- as an overall grade in comp SCI, and got a B+ for the first marking period quarterly. my school sends out quarterly grades with midterm reports, so do you think colleges would be dismayed and reject me because of the F I received on the second quarterly? for certain schools I put my major as computer science, ack. Some schools Ive applied to incude NYU poly and tcnj. thank you so much in advance!

Typically they only care about your semester grade, if an F is a HUGE red flag and would certainly be a problem for them. It may cause you to be deferred or waitlisted.
