I am planning on attending a college with approximately a 50% acceptance rate (Rhodes College) or a public University such as University of Tenn. Knox or University of Memphis. I have the requisite scores to be a National Achievement scholar I think and have an acceptable (by my standards) GPA of 3.2-3.4. However, I have a lot of absences, averaging about 2-3 a week. I am wondering if absences even appear on the transcript and if so do colleges look at them like wow he was skipping or if I include a letter explaining how I was sick a lot will the believe me. Basically if these excessive absences will affect me adversely at 50% acceptance or above colleges and my potential National achievement finalist standing

Well I will give you my story, I had 45 absences 1st semster apush and 60 2nd semster. None of these showed up on transcrpit. I got accepted to uchicago. But I got a 5 on the test and As both semsters. F in citizenship but idc

Nice, thank you.

I would be absent every other day, but for our school, you lose credit after like 7 absences per quarter.

as long as you're not losing credit and doing well in those classes...it's fine. some high school classes are a complete waste of time anyway.

K, as far as I know we don't lose credits. Thanks.
