Will a good SAT II math score make up for my 670 math SAT I score?

I think that they will notice your SAT II Math score, but I am fairly certain that the SAT IIs (at most colleges) play a lesser role than the SAT I score, which would include that 670 math.

If it's UC's you're applying to, SAT II's are more important; but I thought 670 is nothing to be ashamed of.. :)

Well, I want to be an engineer and my math score is pretty low when compared to the scores of the schools I'm applying to.

Your SAT II will support your (hopefully high) grades in math, and will help you. However, your sat 1 should be within the 25-75% split for engineering majors. If it is not, you might want to try a retake.

Most private colleges pay much more attention to your SAT I. On the other hand, state schools, most notably the UC system, place more emphasis on your SATII scores. The SATII's are supposedly more egalitarian. Whatever.

The SAT II's are probably worth more, or at least as much. But one single SAT II test is not equal to the SAT I.

670 math and a great SAT II math score are well above average. It depends where you're going, really.
