Hello!
I am currently on my first year of college. I am attending a community college, but I would like to transfer as soon as I can. Someone recommended that I check out villanova so I did. I did not visit the entire campus, but from what I saw, I liked it. After reading more about the campus life I am not sure if i will fit in.
Although I am Catholic, I happen to be a minority. I am a Palestinian girl who moved to the United States about 3 years ago. My family is not rich. I would say we’re a lower class family. I have liberal views and love having conversations about important issues such as climate change, sexual identities, war, and other topics as well. I heard that the student body at villanova is pretty conservative and most students are from white, middle/ upper class families. I’m worried that this will prevent me from fitting in.
Other than that, with english being my second language, I found the SAT to be extremely difficult, and I did not perform well on it. However, i took the TOEFL and I did get a good score on that. Will that lessen my chances of being accepted?
I am also wondering about financial aid. To make it simple, i cannot afford college. I genuinely have no idea how I will be able to get an education and attend somewhere good for me having to pay too much money. Does villanova give good financial aid?
I have asked a lot of questions but hopefully someone will be able to answer me. Should I continue my application for villanova? Do you think it would be a good school for me if I happen to get accepted?
Thank you
