Here are the ACT dates for the spring: http://www.actstudent.org/regist/dates.html#first .
I would shoot for the June and the September 2016 dates. Both dates should give you enough time for the deadlines, though there were some issues with ACT being a little sluggish releasing September and October scores this year.
Also, have you considered trying the SAT? Not saying you should, just wondering if you have done it yet. They are changing the format so be aware of that.
The main thing is to keep an eye on all the deadlines - testing and application-wise. Consider making a spreadsheet of everywhere you’re interested in going, and the pertinent dates and items needed.
FSU also has an essay, and a suggested resume they want you to submit. So in the summer you could polish up (or create from scratch LOL) those items too.
If you are a junior, you still have time to take on a leadership position or two and put in more time volunteering. Also, since you performed better on the SAT, put your energy into getting help with preparing just for the SAT. Taking it over and over won’t help without prep help. With your current scores and EC’s, keep moving ahead to do more but also don’t be married to the idea of attending FSU or UF. Look at some of the other colleges mentioned above. Good luck!
@SouthFloridaMom9 Thanks for the information, and, ya i am taking the sat(new version) since I did bad on it :-S Hope I do well this time
@NorthFLmomof2 I thought I do better in ACT, compare in sat and act chart, I got 1 pt(NOT GOOD AT ALL) more than SAT. No? Please tell me more, any tips or opinions will help. And, I actually did prep on it for the whole summer (not a good test taker)…
This is the chart I looked at to compare. https://www.act.org/aap/concordance/estimate.html
Not everyone tests well. Test anxiety alone can play into it. I don’t know if you prepped alone or with a tutor. That is something to consider. Just continue to do your best and apply to safety schools for you too. Don’t break yourself over it. You will be happy where ever you get in. It’s all in what you put into it. Good luck!
With tutor actually><, Thanks for your help^.^
