will I get into Georgetown (transfer) with these low scores?

My SAT 1 =1850
SAT US History =710
SAT World hist = 710

My College GPA= 4.0
My HS GPA = 4.230

Fluent in 3 languages and very capable in 4th

Nice recommendations and extracurricular involvements. Work experience at leading European Universities.

My SATs are very bad because I did not really have an adequate preparation. Country I'm originally form is not big on standardized tests (its mostly free response throughout high school) so I got very confused. I dont want to retake it 3rd time, I'm too exhausted.

So, what do you think? I am keeping my hopes very low even though I really want to get into School of Foreign Service. (Or college for Political Science)

anybody ??

Hey FutureTransfer!

I just got accepted into the class of 2011 from a community college, so while I can’t yet tell you anything about what the school is like, I can tell you what my application was like.

My SAT I score was 2230 (1450 without Writing)
I had strong recommendations, a 3.95 college GPA, a strong interview and essays, etc… there’s a lot that they consider. I’m fluent in only 1 language and have an intermediate proficiency in another, so that may be something that sets you apart! Good for you.

I can also tell you that this year they only accepted about 8% of transfer applicants- 2,000 applied for 160 spots. (By the way, I applied to the college as a History major).

Georgetown is my absolute dream school, too, and I was thrilled to be accepted. I hope you reach your goals and that this information helps you.

I got 33 on my ACT. Will such a large score difference between ACT and SAT cause them to question my abilities, etc? I doubt they will just ignore the SATs.

PS. I dont have an option of “hiding” any of the scores since they are on my transcript.

I’m not sure about that one- I never even took the ACT.

They accept the ACTs in place of SAT’s so I dont know what they will decide to look at.
