Will I get my acceptance revoked from UCLA?

Hey everyone,

I am in a panic… I got admitted into UCLA under the Anthropology B.S. major. I recently experienced an unexpected death in my family (my uncle, who was more like a best friend) and it was a very tough time for me. I missed an exam since I had to be with my family and attend the funeral, and my professor only allowed me till the very next day to take the exam and I did not do well. I was advised by my professor and my counselor to drop it since I would mostly likely end with a D in the class. On assist.org it does not say that chemistry II MUST be completed before the spring term ends, and on UCLA’s webpage it says that a minimum of 6 preparatory classes must be completed in order to be considered for the major, which I do have completed. Chemistry is a major prep class, but since Anthropology B.S. is not impacted, it doesn’t seem like it is a must, but I know it made me more competitive. Do you think they will revoke my acceptance since I withdrew from the class? I told them that I am currently enrolled in the class for the summer term!! I am so nervous.

Based on what you’ve written, it seems like assist.org has the requirements to declare the major while the actual site has the requirements for transfer consideration? Though it’s weird that the assist.org page says you must complete it by the end of spring, which sounds like it’s a prereq needed for transfer consideration. Try to find an admissions counselor and talk about it asap. If it’s a class to declare the major, they’ll probably just let you take it there. But if it’s a prereq needed to transfer like the assist.org page says, then you might be in for some trouble. Either way you should be asking UCLA about this instead of this site
