Will it be possible for me to get above a 2000 on my SAT?

I definitely have above average intelligence and my parents plan on getting an SAT tutor who went to Columbia and can get perfect SAT scores. He knows all the methods. I have only taken the PSAT and I'm a sophomore.

I took the SAT 3 times…I’m only submitting my 2nd one though due to unforeseen circumstances with my 3rd score -_-

For reading and writing, honestly if you have been reading books since you were young and have a decent vocab, you shouldn’t aim any lower than 750.

As for the math, just try not to make stupid mistakes. It’s more of a quick IQ test than an actual math test.

I don’t think a tutor can help you with CR, but for writing and math, I think he could help you stamp that 800, 800.

If you have above average intelligence, aim for a 2200.

It’s obviously possible to score a 2000+ with your supposed high intelligence along with the help of a tutor. Take a practice sat by yourself (NOT THE PSAT) and see where your score falls between and what your weaknesses are (this will allow you to tell your tutor what your weak in so he can spend more time on those areas). Good luck.

And you might wanna share that tutors info so other people can score higher, like me. ;)

sure i’ll share the info once i’m done with my homework.

Unless you’re taking the SAT January or something, a 2k+ score is very attainable(even if you’re taking the January one). Just take tests and learn vocab.

anxiousforscore, could you elaborate about a 2k+ score on the January SAT? Why is it not as attainable?

Guys, i consider myself above average in respect to intelligence. However the SAT in no way gauges your intelligence it just tests how well you can take the test. Anyways, i went from 1650 ? (first practice SAT test) in beginning junior year to a 2100(official 1st try SAT) and im waiting on my December scores, in about 3 months. All you need is practice. I honestly put 2-3 hours /week in those 3 months and i made a 450 point leap! now its all about no making stupid errors on the test

For those who are wondering i used Princeton’s Cracking The SAT and alot of online vocab stuff:)

I absolutely disagree that the SAT does not gauge intelligence!
