^ lol..ten char

i guess not today ;)

Hey, ab2013...what about those of us waiting for both? It's INTENSE!
Oh wait, no, I'm not waiting for UChicago anymore, because I applied early. I've been swept up in this PANIC!
I think you guys are going way more overboard than over on NU's forum. Maybe because Uchicago was earlier last year.

I hope that didn't sound slanted for NU or something. I love both schools. :)

^RhymesWithGreen:

Well then they should release them at the same time. :)

My head almost exploded when I saw this. How could you NOT wait for Chicago anymore!!! Traitor! You should be banished from the Chicago boards for infinity squared!!

College decisions --> Bipolarity (if that's a word)

haha...ab, I think Rhymeswithgreen implied that s/he got accepted EA (you lucky bastard!!!)

But yeah, I think that the UChicago forum is the one with the most paranoid seniors as well...

^^^ USC is actually much worse.

Ahh...sorry. No traitor here. I was accepted EA. In a way, I am still waiting - hoping and praying the FA package is increased, because Chicago is a dream - in sort of an odd way. I visited on a whim this summer (at a friend's recommendation), and fell IN LOVE.

In two posts, I've been threatened with banning from the forum and been called a lucky bastard (though I think that's a compliment of sorts). D:
I'm really a very nice person, and wish you all lots and lots of luck. Or qualification, or adequate quirkiness, or whatever. :)

^I was actually joking around ... but I had no idea that you were accepted EA. Congrats!

Now go bug Chicago's FA office to see if they change their minds.

^I knew you were joking. :) and thanks.
I'll wait until an official FA decision before I bug them - our situation has changed immensely income-wise in a year, so I'm thinking there's a decent chance that since we've sent tax records or 2008 information or whatever is relevant, it will go up. What I'm hoping anyway.

Generic, offtopic rant-like thing:
Everyone I know is asking me where I'm going next year, and since I'm still waiting on two decisions and FA info from every school, I have NO idea. I should get a shirt that says "College decision available by May 1st" (Then watch everybody bet on a date??)
I know I'm not the only one in this spot around here, but I seem to be at my school, as most of them have been set on one of the state schools since...idk...birth?

Anyhow...

^^its the same in my school. i think flashy t-shirts covered in glitter and tie die would do just fabulously. even my family won't stop harrassing me...with the exception of my mom and uncloe, who are the only ones who really get the situation at all. the rest are like "why havent you decided yet!? what are you waiting for!?" gah...

I keep on meeting random adults (long story) and everyone asks about college and I'm like I DO NOT KNOW YET. And then they ask my first choice and I'm like "..." because I don't want to jinx anything.

I just say UT, because that's where I'll be going unless UChicago's financial aid is too good to refuse. Which I doubt it will be. :(

Just think. In a little more than a month, we'll all have decided on a college and all of this madness will be over.

Unfortunately, it's still March 21st and I still have no f***ing clue where I'm going to get accepted, let alone where I'll go.

Yay I feel less alone!
Forget jinxing anything, I don't even have a top choice because while the four schools I applied to are very very different from each other, I like them all for different reasons.
Ahhhh!

Glittery tie-dye shirts would be great. Shirt-dying party next week! If anybody's against tie-dye, I've got some connections with a t-shirt printing company. I can get them in bright colors, and cheap. Let me know... :D

Now back to the homework I put off all of my spring break. Woo.

^You're on spring break? Lucky! My spring break doesn't start for another 2 weeks :(

At what's worse is that the college admissions thing is really starting to distract me from my schoolwork...I still care about schoolwork, so it's not senioritis.

^Aww, that's kind of annoying. Actually, I've never quite understood why we take break so early. Often there's still a threat of snow during break, and I'm sorry - that's just not spring. This week was amazing outside, but I spent the whole time putting off all the things I was supposed to get done.

My problem is not senioritis, I don't think. I think it's wannabe senioritis. I know that I don't need to care, so I put everything off, put if off some more, then remember that I do still care when I'm working on it at the last minute. I spend more time procrastinating than actually DOING the work, and that's a major problem. I made a commitment to do more social stuff fourth quarter, to force school back a little because senior year is supposed to be fun, and I've just been working (or procrastinating) my butt off too much to enjoy it.

We have a super long spring break this year (march 12 at noon to you fly back to campus march 30th) so it's really nice.
Though that first week back at school is going to be hell with all the college drama. Everyone is always discussing who got in where and it's just...well, it'll be interesting, I guess. I can't wait for my senior spring classes and the weather though...senior spring at my school is beyond legendary. Senioritis shouldn't be too much of a problem...
