I took the SATs my freshman year and sophmore year because my mom made me. I also took them in 8th grade for the John Hopkins CTY thing.
I have taken them twice this year and want to take them one more time. I'm worried that schools that don't use score choice will see that I have taken them six times and look down upon that, but two of them weren't even my junior year or taken seriously and one was taken in middle school!!
Please help!!!!

someone?!?!

come on! please I’m freaking out!!! Not all the schools I’m applying to use score choice!!

they won’t see the time you took them in 8th grade
i’m pretty sure you don’t have to show them you took it in freshman and sophomore year, and if you do, i’m sure they’ll understand it was for CTY (if you attended CTY. even if you didn’t, lots of people take them then just as practice)
i think colleges really only care if you took them in junior or senior year, so since you’ve only “actually” taken them twice, it’d be fine to have 3 scores.

okay thank you so much! that makes me feel a lot better!

I think they look at scores from your entire high school career (Grades 9-12) but CB doesn’t send the middle school scores unless you specifically request them to.

okay thanks! but will my taking them my freshman and sophomore year negatively affect me?

I think they won’t. One of my friends took 4 times from here sophomore to senior and every time she improves a little. And finally she got a 2200+ and was admitted my her dream college! So if you make some improvement every time , maybe the colleges will think that you have done a good job.

Why would taking it a bunch of times hurt you? If anything it would show ambition.

thanks for the input everyone!

i dont think it will affect u badly. i took them in 8th and taking them this yr again as a freshmen and i can opt not to send my high school the scores therefore the college probably wouldnt get them
