Will journalism experience help me in the Medill admissions process?

Hi everyone -

I applied RD to Medill, and I was just wondering what your opinion was on how my journalism-related extracurricular activities might help me in the admissions process.

*4 years school newspaper staff, and I'm Editor-In-Chief this year.
*Internship at a local weekly newspaper - general filing work and some sportswriting
*I was a part of the National High School Institute - Journalism division this summer at Northwestern.

SATs are 790 verbal/620 math, 93u/95-96w average - lots of other extracurriculars besides journalism.

I'm not wondering what my chances are so much as how my involvement in journalism will help (or not.) What's your opinion?

Thanks!

I hope so... I'm editor-in-chief of my school paper this year too, and I'm hoping that will really help me get in

lol, i would hope that journalism experience would help you get into a school of journalism, i mean, come on guys.
