11/4/2008 never forget?????

Well on the one hand, it only went blue 4% in 2000 and 2% in 2004.
Hillary crushed Obama soundly despite his money advantage thanks to West PA.

On the other hand, public polling has Obama better than he is in places like MO, VA, CO.
Dems have a 1M registration advantage or something like that.

But the McCain campaign isn't spending time and money there for no reason.

Crazy Kos kid: *Steve Corbett, a radio talk show host in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, accidentally received a copy of an internal email sent by Grant Olin who heads the Wilkes-Barre headquarters of the Obama campaign. The email went to 627 Obama campaign volunteers in the Wilkes-Barre Scranton region, saying that Obama Headquarters reported an internal poll which shows that Obama is only 2 points up in Pennsylvania.

A partyId of at least +6 this year seems reasonable, as many pollsters are showing. Many rightwingers are arguing that the breakdown should be a push, like 2004, which is ridiculous. However the rumor of +2 in PA reinforces their argument. And that's the last hope they have left.

We need to get on this story as soon as possible before it spreads any further. I don't want them to have any hope left, Let's crush their spirits!*

On the issues, Hillary = Obama.

I guess your contention is that the majority of white Pennsylvanians are racially-motivated voters. You said it, not me.

I think Biden wins this one for Obama.

According to Murtha, his district is full of racist red necks. You might ask another question, can Murtha be re-elected to his district after this latest outrage?

Correction, he first said that they ARE racist. Then a couple of days later, he said they WERE rednecks :D

Not only that, but a Wiki on him reveals he's said some wacky stuff about our military too.

Via Michelle Malkin: A Pennsylvania source has just leaked me brand spanking new poll data showing GOP upstart Bill Russell leading John Murtha among over 800 probable voters by 48-35.

This comes on top of the Susquehanna poll showing Murtha ahead of Russell by 4 points, within the margin of error.

The new poll is from Dane and Associates, which surveyed over 800 probable voters, randomly selected to reflect the district makeup, on Wednesday night.

From The Hill:

“Right now ... there’s one [poll] that shows us ahead, and there are some more that are coming out here that, I think, will shock you,” Russell said. “We’ve had a number of calls, people approaching saying they're just absolutely outraged, and they are fully intending to vote against Mr. Murtha.”

Russell reported having $2.2 million in the race, and had $330,000 in cash on hand at the beginning of October, respectable figures for a challenger to a longtime incumbent.

Murtha has spent under $1.9 million in the race, but reported over $500,000 in cash on hand through the middle of October. Murtha has represented the district since 1973, and won reelection in 2006 with 61 percent of the vote.

I'm a McCain supporter in PA, and I highly doubt he wins the state.

Who knows? They can't vote early like other states.

I mean Murtha's a liberal, and that area voted for him, but they're looking likely to throw him out for a conservative.

I think it'll be close, but Obama will squeak by and pick up Pennsylvania.

My take is that Murtha has been wandering off the reservation and it's time to give him the hook. If I were Dem I might vote for him only if he promised not to run again. If I were independant, I would give his opponent a good, hard look.

This will have the GOP singing today, as it welcomes John McCain for yet another visit to the state: the Republican trails Barack Obama by 8 percentage points in Pennsylvania, according to the Morning Call/Muhlenberg College tracking poll.

Obama's edge is now 52 percent to 44 percent.

That is the closest the race has been -- according to the tracking poll -- in a month. Two days ago, Obama led in the poll by a 13-point margin, 54 percent to 41 percent.
