Will my class rank tank my chances?

I attend a small charter school, and it uses unweighted GPA to determine class rank. I have a 3.72 raw, and so I rank 27th... out of 84, so not even 25%. Despite having one of the hardest course loads, I am being ranked behind people with 17s on their ACTs and no honors or AP's. According to my rough estimates, I'd be ranked 8th if we had a weighted 5.0 scale and 5th for 6.0 scale, but my school instead has this stupid ranking system...

My profile:

Unweighted GPA: 3.72

Reach Schools I'm Applying to: Stanford, Yale, Dartmouth, Cornell, Amherst, Colgate.

I'm afraid that my class rank will just automatically deny my application before essays and recommendations.

No it definitely won’t - with that GPA and more so that ACT score they will definitely take a good look at your application.

Don’t worry about it

Stanford:
Percent in top tenth of high school graduating class: 94
Percent in top quarter of high school graduating class: 99

I’m sure you’ll see something similar at your other potential schools.

Might add Holy Cross-JAN15TH APPLICATION DUE DATE-VERY SIMIILAR to COLGATE.
