Will my friend's Quarter grades kill his chances to top business schools?

Okay, so basically, I have general knowledge of what my friend's grades are, and he had a tough time with sophomore year because his family was suffering financially and had to pay many overdue bills. So he really wants to go to some of these schools I will list, and he is very depressed, and I just want to surprise him with this thread to show that he is too uptight with college admissions:

According ONLY to his raw grades, what are his chances to:

NYU Stern
Babson College
Cornell College
Boston College ( Carroll)
Fordham University
Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute (Lally)
Northeastern University
Boston University
Bentley College

bump (10 char) Please help!

"According ONLY to his raw grades, what are his chances to:" ? you mean don't look at the test scores. sry if im dumb ha...anyhow those test scores are above the mean of probably all of those schools except maybe cornell...so sat will help a lot

first thing: he might want to explain, BRIEFLY, the troubles that were on him which effected him soph year. might want to, might not. of course, make sure its not the essay though. every admissions talk i listen to, they say all kinds of stuff regarding not trying to make them feel terrible for you in your essay. ANYWAY:

*what is his actual GPA??? i see all his grades but a gpa would help.
-also i have no idea about half of these. ill just comment on those i know.

NYU Stern - don't know, in -state i'd guess hes in
Babson College
Cornell College
Boston College ( Carroll) - SAT score is awesome for here. dunno about GPA. i'd say in.
Fordham University
Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute (Lally)
Northeastern University - in
Boston University - depending on gpa, slight reach?
Bentley College

Test scores are amazing for any of these schools, i think

Thank you very very much TTWhite, I cannot wait to show him your post ( and if my friend somehow gets into nyu stern we can room together!) but before i get ahead of myself, his GPA is 3.65 UW.

Before you show him this, you might want to take into account that TT seems to think NYU is a state school.

ohhhh, yeah, no. Hmom5, what do you think his chances are, I see you on the boards everywhere! And OMG 2,414 posts! Can you give your opinion please? You must be experienced.

A 3.65 is definitely below the Stern level, especially with Ds and Cs. To be honest, I think Stern might be a reach, despite the high scores. Unless there is a really good explanation for the bad grades, then it might be tougher for you/your friend to get in. Elsewhere, I think s/he has a good shot

I don't think he'll get into Stern or Cornell. If he needs any kind of aid it especially doesn't look good for NYU. He should get into Fordham, Northeastern and BU. Don't know the rest.

Bumppp! Any more?
